The VC Concierge

The Work in Practice

My Day-to-Day

Connetic Ventures

As an investor with Connetic Ventures, I've reviewed 200+ founder pitches and built a curated network of operators and advisors who plug into the companies I believe in. I work on the product team for Wendal, our proprietary AI/ML platform that evaluates founders, teams, and startups across North America. I also support our valuation team and co-lead internal compliance operations.

Ecosystem Building

I've led initiatives to partner with local startup ecosystems to deploy capital and fund innovation — scaling Connetic's pitch competition sponsorship framework to reach more founders, earlier. Through Kentucky Governor's School for Entrepreneurs, I've coached 400+ students across five cohorts on identifying problems, designing solutions, and pitching with conviction.

Thought Leadership

I publish regularly on GTM clarity, fundraising narratives, and the operational patterns that separate founders who win from founders who fade. The VC Concierge is where I synthesize lessons from 100+ founder conversations into frameworks that actually work.

The Path

The Journey So Far

Foundations

Hospitality Management

Ritz-Carlton and Marriott. Large scale events in the entertainment industry. Developing a philosophy of precision and anticipation. Learning how high-repetition systems produce elite outcomes.

Transition

Finance & Operations

JPMorgan Chase. Startup support roles. Translating service precision into financial analysis. Helping startups manage complexity through systems and operational discipline.

The Pivot

Founding & Venture

Ecosystem engagement. Founded a hospitality technology platform through a bootcamp. A brief founder journey leading to the discovery of "Third Door" paths in early-stage venture capital.

Present

Connetic Ventures

Early-stage industry agnostic investor & portfolio manager across North America. Product team for Wendal (AI/ML). Valuation support. Fund operations coordinator. Platform leader. Pitch competition ecosystem scaling.

The Future

Research & Entrepreneurship

Pursuing deeper integration of investment frameworks, societal impact, and the institutional knowledge to scale early ideas in development. Actively building the foundation to unlock new value in the startup ecosystem and team effectiveness. The next chapter is being written now.

The Manifesto

The VC Concierge is a practice of early-stage craft. A practice of creativity—helping founders take an idea that lives in the quiet interior of the mind and make it real in the world.

I'm drawn to the earliest stage because it's the most honest stage. Before the story is polished. Before the metrics are clean. When building is less about "execution" and more about translation: turning intuition into language, language into product, and product into a future other people can finally see.

Building a startup is a creative practice; a practice of making the invisible visible. That translation requires discipline: customer proximity, clear thinking under uncertainty, and the ability to stack improvements faster than doubt. This is the part of building that feels like art. And it's the part I most want to practice, working alongside founders brave enough to try.

Hospitality, Applied

I started my career in hospitality management. I didn't know it at the time, but it gave me a blueprint for how high-performance organizations actually work.

In hospitality, "service" isn't a department, it's a philosophy of precision.

A concierge doesn't just hand you a key. They anticipate friction before you feel it. They earn trust through small details. They create calm in complexity.

It's also operationally demanding and reputationally unforgiving: high repetition, high standards, constant variance. You learn quickly that outcomes are produced by systems like: checklists, handoffs, team coordination, and attention to detail that customers can feel even if they can't name it.

Activated for Startups

That mindset translates cleanly to startups.

The startup journey is a thousand small moments of data: customer conversations, product decisions, team dynamics, operational tradeoffs, missed flights, broken builds, unexpected churn, surprise demand. Every day can look similar on the surface, while everything is constantly changing underneath.

The pattern is repetitive. The stakes are not.

The founders who win aren't only the ones with bold vision. They're the ones who turn the data into daily decisions; who learn how to operate and win the day.

Hospitality is also a lesson in commoditized markets. Hotels are a bed, a shower, a lobby, some snacks. The baseline is similar almost everywhere. Differentiation comes from the experience—reliability, responsiveness, and trust.

Startups face the same truth. Features get copied. Distribution shifts. Markets move. What endures is the velocity with which a team learns, executes, and earns trust—one day at a time.

Lines, Over Dots

Venture culture loves dots: the pitch, the round, the valuation, the headline, the exit.

But company building is the line—daily customer work, product iteration, hiring decisions, and operational tradeoffs that compound. The founders who win reduce unforced errors, maintain velocity, and keep their team aligned long enough for the market to reward them.

My work is oriented around helping founders build those lines with intention, connecting the dots.

The Third Door

My own path—from hospitality to finance, a brief founder journey, and an unplanned route into venture—was not linear. It was a Third Door path: when the front door is locked and the side door is guarded, you build a new one.

That's what founders do. Most meaningful companies begin as mispriced beliefs, native truths the market hasn't fully recognized yet.

Founders don't just find doors; they frame them, build them, and persuade others to walk through.

My role is to help founders do two things:

  • 1. Frame the third door clearly — identify the real wedge, real differentiation, real path the market isn't pricing yet.
  • 2. Walk through it with craft — build the repeatable practices that keep you in the game long enough for the world to catch up.

Because many "overnight successes" are just people who stayed alive long enough for timing to meet preparation.

Overlooked Ecosystems & Advancing the Mean

Every founder needs an ecosystem, but sometimes ecosystems struggle to engage every founder.

I engage the overlooked, underrepresented, and nurture the seeds for an abundant culture of agency and entrepreneurship.

I'm particularly fond of opportunities in "flyover" regions — where capital is scarcer, founders are scrappier, and the distance between an idea and institutional support is longer. Closing that gap is part of the work.

Through Kentucky Governor's School for Entrepreneurs, I've served as an instructional coach across five cohorts, teaching 400+ students how to identify problems, design solutions, and pitch startups in a startup bootcamp environment. Every student earns scholarship to higher education opportunities, and a certificate that carries my signature. I carry renewed purpose for lasting impact.

The aggregate mean success rate for startups is 10%; I'm ambitious enough to consider the opportunity for shifting that mean to enable a greater likelihood of success.

The work isn't just about finding the next unicorn; it's about building the ecosystem that produces them.

The Promise

There's a quote in venture: "It's easy to compare one term sheet to the next; it's much harder to compare one partnership to the next. A term sheet is a moment in time. A partner is years."

  • I want to enjoy every moment with the founders I support and be a small part of crafting moments that matter. If you're building early, especially when it still feels a little crazy, you're in the right place. I bring concierge level support:
  • Clarity over noise
  • Craft over theatrics
  • Partnership over transactions
  • Staying power over burnout
  • Bring what you're building, why it matters, and what you believe the market is missing. I'll bring structured thinking, deep attention, and care for the work that happens between the milestones. Let's build the third door and walk through it together.

How We Work

The VC Concierge is a front desk, not a gate: thoughtful review, honest feedback, and high-signal connection when it's genuinely useful. In some cases, that can include introductions to operators, partners, or investors in my network.

The service comes first.
